Eddie Woods Keeneland sales grad Lady Eli upped her record to 2-for-2 with a powerful-looking three length win in the $200,000 Miss Grillo S. Sept. 28 at Belmont Park.

The 2-year-old daughter of Divine Park is out of Sacre Coeur, also the dam of multiple Grade 3 winner Bizzy Caroline. Woods sold the dark bay filly for $160,000 at this April’s Keeneland 2-year-olds in Training sale.

Lady Eli had a wide trip over the Belmont lawn on Sunday, but was undeterred as she came from just off the pace to win in hand, covering the 1 1/16 miles in 1:43.50.

With her maiden win a month ago at Saratoga, Lady Eli has now bankrolled $169,800 in her two starts for owner Sheep Pond Partners and trainer Chad Brown. She was bred in Kentucky by Runnymede Farm and Catesby Clay.
