Belle of the Hall made headlines when the Eddie Woods consignee brought the sales-topping price of $340,000 at the 2009 OBS February Selected 2-year-old sale. Now she's making headlines once again after running her record to a perfect 3-for-3 with a 3/4-length victory in the $200,000 Jostle S. at Philadelphia Park on June 12.
The 3-year-old chestnut daughter of Graeme Hall, out of Vines of Justice, was making her stakes debut in the 6 1/2-furlong Jostle. She was never more than a length off the lead at any point, stalking the pacesetter before moving to the front for good at the top of the stretch. She finished the race in an excellent 1:15.44, getting an 87 Beyer Speed Figure.
Belle of the Hall is owned by West Point Thoroughbreds, who purchased her at the OBS sale. She has now earned $172,200.
In addition to Belle of the Hall, Dream of Atlantis, a graduate of the Woods training program, was second, beaten less than a length, in the $85,000 Unbridled S. at Calder on June 12. The bay 3-year-old son of Stormy Atlantic is 1-1-0 in three starts, earning $39,250 for Sabine Stable. Dream of Atlantis hails from the extended family of Forty One Carats, winner of the Pegasus H. (G2).
