Eddie Woods sales graduate Big Brown’s memorable racing career officially came to a close when the brilliant colt was honored as the Champion 3-Year-Old Male at the annual Eclipse Awards ceremony Monday, Jan. 26th in Miami.

The award was befitting of a horse that took the racing world by storm in 2008, as Big Brown captured four Grade 1 races including the prestigious Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes – the first two legs of the coveted Triple Crown – and the Florida Derby and Haskell Invitational. He also won the Monmouth Stakes on turf and closed his career out with seven wins from eight starts with earnings of more than $3.6 million.

Big Brown, who has retired to stud at Three Chimneys Farm, was campaigned in 2008 by trainer Richard Dutrow for owners Paul Pompa and IEAH Stables.
