Woods' sales grad Moanin captures Japanese Grade 3

Moanin, a 4-year-old Henny Hughes colt, captured his second stakes win in six starts on Jan 31 with a half-length win in the Negishi S. (G3) at Tokyo Racecourse.

The chestnut colt, bred in New York by Empire Equines, LLC, was part of the Eddie Woods sales consignment at the 2014 OBS March Sale of Selected Two-Year-Olds in Training, selling for $335,000 to powerful buyer Narvick International, agent.

Moanin, who was also Grade 3-placed in Nov., 2015 over the same racetrack, is under consideration for the $1 million Godolphin Mile (G2) in late March at Meydan Racecourse. He has won five of his six lifetime starts and is owned by Yukio Baba.
