Eddie Woods Sales grad Magic Grant went from maiden to stakes winner in Friday night’s $75,000 Clever Trevor S., coming from a dozen lengths off the pace and storming through the stretch to win by 4 ½-lengths [WATCH RACE] .

The 2-year-old colt, who was making just his second start following a debut maiden loss on Sept. 29, broke outward and found himself well off the early pacesetters. Allowed to settle down the backstretch, the bay began to make up ground around the turn. Despite being carried six-wide into the stretch, Magic Grant was full of run and flew past the field to win going away.

Magic Grant was purchased out of the Eddie Woods consignment for $300,000 out of the 2023 OBS March 2-year-olds sale by his owner Willis Horton. Magic Grant was a $120,000 buy at the previous year’s Keeneland September sale.
