Eddie Woods sales grad We the People thoroughly dominated the May 14 Peter Pan S. (G3) at Belmont Park, taking the 1 1/8-mile race with a blowout 10 ¼-length victory over the off going.

The race serves as the local prep for the June 11 Belmont S. (G1), a race that is under strong consideration according to We the People’s connections.

"The Belmont Stakes is a consideration for sure. The way he galloped out and the way he handled the mile-and-an-eighth, it's something to consider," said Elliott Walden, CEO, president, and racing manager of WinStar Farm, who co-own the colt with CMNWLTH. and Siena Farm.

We the People was consigned by Woods at the 2021 Fasig-Tipton March 2-year-old sale, where he brought a winning bid of $230,000 from WinStar Farm.

In the Peter Pan, We the People was urged a bit out of the gate by Flavien Prat, taking the lead and setting a sensible quarter-mile in :23.66. After getting to the six-furlong mark in 1:11.25 with a one-length lead, We the People began to slip away from the field. He turned it on in the stretch and opened up at will to get the distance over the good, but sealed race track, in 1:48.27. He earned a career-best Beyer Speed Figure of 103.

The victory upped We the People’s earnings to $230,250, with a mark of 3-0-0 in four starts.
