After being bottled up on the turn, Mansetti stormed down the Woodbine stretch to win the $150,000 Woodstock S. by a widening four lengths on April 27.
This was the second stakes win in just five lifetime starts for the Eddie Woods Training program grad, who is now three-for-five lifetime and has earned $174,923 for owners Al and Bill Ulwelling.
Big Vince and Kokomo battled for the early lead, with Mansetti two lengths back in third down the backstretch. Around the turn, Mansetti closed in on the leaders, but was boxed in by horses on his outside as well, causing him to check back. After turning for home, Mansetti veered outside for clear running, then flew through the final furlong to win impressively in 1:10.70 for the six furlongs.
Mansetti, bred in Canada by Jungle Racing, LLC, won the Clarendon S. last November, also at Woodbine. He was purchased by his owners for $40,000 at the 2024 OBS Spring 2-year-old sale.
