The first day of the March 14-15 OBS March Selected Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale yielded stellar results for Eddie Woods, with eight lots sold for a total $3,155,000, an average of $394,375.

Topping Tuesday's results for Woods was an $850,000 Exchange Rate filly purchased by agent Donato Lanni on behalf of Baoma Corp.

“At this sale, for those horses that check all the boxes, everybody comes out for them,” Lanni said. “It's tough to do everything they're supposed to do here, and they're really tough to buy. She's a nice filly. She jumped every hoop. She did well on the racetrack--she did her job and looked good at the barn.”

Not far behind was a City Zip filly, hip No. 116, that went to trainer Graham Motion for $700,000. The bay filly is a full sister to the brilliant multiple Grade 1 winner Palace, who entered stud last year at Spendthrift Farm.

Hip No. 126 brought a winning bid of $595,000 from Carolyn Wilson. The colt has three stakes-winning siblings, including Spinaway S. (G1) winner Mani Bhavan and San Felipe S. (G2) Hear the Ghost.

Woods fourth juvenile to bring at least one half-million dollars was hip No. 27, a $550,000 colt that went to Solis & Litt. From the first crop of Animal Kingdom, the colt is out of the stakes winner Miss Lombardi.
